SHAMROCK RUN

Registration just opened for the 2013 Shamrock Run.  In my opinion its one of the funnest races in all of Portland year round.  We here at Faith are trying to put together a team.  A team must consist of at least 15 runners.  You can choose from any of the races available which are a 15k, 8k, 5k, 5k walk and the 1km for the kiddos.  If we get 15 runners we will get a $4 discount each bringing the total of the race to $32 per person.  The race will be Sunday March 17th at Waterfront Park in Downtown Portland.  Start times are early so you should still have time to make it to church!  If you would like to join the Faith team just e-mail Eddie at eddie.kirkpatrick@faithkids.org and you will be given further instructions.  Registration includes free adidas tech shirt, bowl of clam chowder, drink & many other goodies and coupons!

Free Heart Screenings for Young People

Below is some info sent in by one of our Faith parents about free heart screenings at St. V's.

Basically, while the odds are low of one of our kids having a heart defect they don’t know about (and playing sports) the risk is still there.  I thought it was a COOL thing to at least inform our parents that such a program exists, that it’s free and is available.  St. V’s offers free screenings every Tuesday from 1-5 pm for kids from age 12 to 18.  Here is the link!
