LEGACY HEALTH TEEN ATHLETIC HEART SCREENINGS

The TACS program, co-founded in 2006 by the David Heller Foundation and Legacy Health, aims to educate the public about the importance of cardiac screening for young athletes aged 13-19. Screening can detect cardiac conditions such as hypertrophic cardio-myopathy, the most common cause of sudden death in athletes.

Even kids who seem healthy and have passed a physical exam may have heart problems, This can lead to sudden cardiac arrest. Our seventh annual Teen Athlete Cardiac Screening will check students from 13-19 for potential heart problems.
The low-cost screening takes about an hour. It includes an electrocardiogram (ECG), height, weight, body mass index (BMI) measurements and cardiac physical exam. Cardiologists, pediatricians and health care professionals perform the tests. ECG results are read by a pediatric cardiologist. You will recieve your resutls at the screening and there will be time to address any concerns and have your questions answered.
Register now for this year's screening on Saturday, October 12 at adidas in Portland. Registration is required. A parent of guardian must accompany all participants. This screening does not take the place of a school-mandated physical.
Screenings take place Saturday Oct. 12th from 8:30am-2pm at the Adidas Village in Portland and the cost is only $10.  You must pre-register as space is limited.  To pre-regester or to get more info click on the link below.
