10/13 Faith Bible Falcons vs. Life Christian Lions

Tuesday, October 13th at Forest Hills Lutheran the Faith Bible Falcons and the Life Christian Lions battled a tough fought match. The night was dedicated to raising Breast Cancer awareness, and the teams showed up wearing pink jerseys, pink hair bows, and even pink socks. The crowd and fans, too, wore all pink. After the match, the two teams had dinner together and bonded with each other.

During the match, the Falcons scored a total of 26 kills, Madeleine Hood and Maile Kam with the majority of them. Also during the game, the girls picked up a total of 17 digs from the Lions’ hitters. Their serving average was 95/100% for the whole team and hitting average was
.250/.300, in other words it was a fantastic game for the Falcons. The Falcons pushed through for the whole match and really relied on what they learned in their practices, and in the end it payed off. We won in three sets with scores of

It was a great night even beyond the game of volleyball as someone wrote the following letter to Jackie Arnold, Faith's head coach following the "Dig Pink Night."

“Hi. I just wanted to thank you again for putting Dig Pink together. Our neighbor,  whom I had asked about inviting, came and had a great time!! Even though she is a wonderful woman and a strong survivor of cancer, conversations about God have always been difficult with her. Last night opened the door to have the most open faith conversation we have ever had! I know that seeing Christians support a cause so meaningful to her and hearing it prayed over softened her heart and opened the door. She even made a comment of surprise about how the other team was invited to the meal afterwards. She saw followers of Christ in such a positive way last night and we were able to talk about why there are so many professing Christians who don't demonstrate God's love (which has been a big issue for her). I am so grateful for last night! Dig Pink was great all around--school spirit and community were built, the game was incredibly fun, the food was delicious, God's love was demonstrated, and eternal Kingdom ministry was done. Praise God! I also want to thank you again for working with the middle school teams. It has made a difference in their skills and confidence and they feel so encouraged by the varsity team!
