It didn't take long for another XC record to go down. In the second meet of the year held at Tualatin Hills Caleb Vandergiessen was able to break the boys freshman record by running a 20:36. He was able to beat the previous record holder, now senior Jacob Daskalakis by two seconds.
In Hillsboro at the Nike Bill Chapman Invite at Rood Bridge Park on the very first meet of the year freshman Tess Vanderkamp in her first high school race broke the Faith girls freshman 5k record. Tess was able to run a 25:27 beating the previous record held by Makenzie Bender at 30:25.
