VOLLEYBALL WINS IN COMEBACK @ KNAPPA

This Tuesday the Lady Falcons traveled to Knappa and expanded their record to 7-1 in the league sitting only 1 game out of first place and in 2nd place by 2.

On the road Tuesday the Lady Falcons traveled to Knappa where the first two games they suffered many errors passing, setting, and hitting along with an uneven referring. Then Junior setter Abi Gillenwater who took the brunt of the uneven calls the first 2 games shot back with a vengeance where other setters would have buckled under that pressure and had a career/season high 27 assists. The 27 is a setting record for Faith Bible with the most assists in any 1 match. What contributed to Abi’s record was the hitting power across the team where in the past only 1-2 hitters excelled for the Lady Falcons where the 2016 team has many hitters helping their fight. Middle blocker Alleggra Poetter led the team with a season/career high 15 kills along with the other middle blocker Keeley Price following with her season/career high 9 kills. Senior Taylor Campbell and Freshman Kaitlin Hergert helped the hitting attack with 5 kills apiece.

The Falcons had 4 servers with 100% accuracy. Servers Kaitlin, Keeley, Abi and Freshman Ashley Campbell all completed the perfect serving while Jahzel Sanchez had 5 aces on the night followed by Abi with 4 and teammates Alleggra, Keeley and Taylor adding 2 more. Sophomore transfer Libero Jahzel Sanchez contributed 10 digs for the winning Falcons. All of these efforts and a strong endurance team both mentally and physically outplayed and outlasted the warn-down loggers of Knappa beating them the next 3 and taking the W to hold steady in the #2 league spot.
