KAM & KAM CATERING to do Concessions for Volleyball

Don't make the same mistake others did last week by bringing Subway sandwiches to the volleyball game.  No longer are the main items at our concession stand hot dogs and Snickers.  We have been blessed by Kam & Kam Catering providing the concessions at volleyball games this year.  Each game will have a different $5 dinner special.  Last game it was sweet & sour meatballs served over rice and the reviews were great.  I believe Tuesday's special will be teriyaki chicken and rice.  That isn't the only change in concessions, they also provide healthy snacks such as fruits and veggies.  For you sugar lovers there is still candy to be had as well as pizza.  So no longer do you need to have dinner at home or stop by Subway on the way to the game.  Bring your appetite and support Faith athletics by having dinner at the game.  You won't be disappointed...Kam & Kam Catering is the best in the business!!!!!

NESTUCCA BEACH RUN 2012 XC MEET

After a great retreat at Wi-ne-ma the XC team went to Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City to compete in the 2012 Nestucca Beach Run.  Our athletes did amazing.  It has to be one of the hardest races around.  The whole race is ran on sand, mostly loose sand and the finish line is going up hill on a huge sand dune.  Most kids where crawling to the finish line.  Just to be able to say you finished a race like this is an accomplishment in itself.  Not only did our athletes only finish but they did great!  Though the results are not posted on athletic.net yet, I believe all our boys, Micah Johnson, Garrett Bender & Chris Cotuna all finished in the top half and Ari Daskalakis finished in the top ten once again placing in eighth!

Below is a video from the meet!

The weekend got off to a great start when the Falcons soccer team traveled to Southwest Christian to take on the Wildcats.  The goalie combination of Jason Best and Russell Walker was lights out, not allowing a single goal. And the boys poured on the points with Jackson VanVuren, Cameron Hofer, Luke Lozano & Jason Middleton all scoring in this contest.  The teams record improved to 2-1.  You can catch the team in action next this Tuesday when they host Gervais at 4:00 at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Great Start Against Portland Christian

The Volleyball team played in their home opener Thursday night against Portland Christian.  Faith got out to a great start winning the first set 25-20.  Unfortunately that was the only set they won, losing the next three.  Though it was a loss the girls showed what they are capable of and this young team should have plenty of great games ahead of them.  Below is a play from tonights game.

FALCONS WIN SOCCER HOME OPENER!!!!!

It was a beautiful day for a soccer game and the day was made even better by the Falcons winning their home opener to improve to 1-1 on the season.  It was a hard fought battle and the kids persevered beating their opponent East Linn 2-1.  Faith's two goals were scored by Brandon Luey and Cameron Hofer.  The win was a team effort and we look forward to many more wins on the season!

XC Bill Chapman Invitational

Faith ran in its first XC meet of the year this past Friday at Rood Bridge Park in Hillsboro.  Faith was the only 1A/2A/3A school represented.  Most of the schools at the meet were 6A schools such as Glencoe, Century, Hillsboro, Jesuit, Lincoln, Westview and Liberty.  It was a great way to start off the year before getting ready to race at pre-districts on 9/10 at Tualitan Hills Rec Center.

Micah Johnson ran a 22:52, less then a minute off his best time of last year.  Good sign of a great year to come from the senior.

Ari Daskalakis finished in 19th place out of 70 plus runners with a time of 23.46.  Ari's time set a new Faith record for a women's XC time!

"The Shirt" 2012

"The Shirt" in 2011 was a big hit amongst the fans and family of Faith Bible.  Since it was such a success last year, we are offering a similar replica in case you didn't get one last year.  This years "I Love My Falcons" shirt will be the same only on a grey shirt with navy blue words.  Prices are $10 for a t-shirt, $15 for a long sleeve & $20 for a sweatshirt.

Now for the unveiling of "the shirt" for 2012.  The shirt this year will be from the chant adopted by our sports teams last year that went like this....I....I believe....I believe that.....I believe that we.....I believe that we will....I believe that we will win....I believe that we will win....I believe that we will win!!!!!!
Though out team and crowd chants about believing that we will be victors...that is exactly what the Bible tells us in Romas 8:37, "in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!"  So even though we might not win every competition we play in we can be confident that Jesus has defeated death and that true victory really is ours!

Just like last year 20% of the profit on the shirts will go to Faith Bible athletics.  T-shirts are $10,  long sleeve $15 and sweat shirts are $20.  Contact the Faith Bible HS office to order your shirt today.  Thanks for your support of Faith Bible athletics!!!!!!!!!!

Running for Faith

While trying to catch up on the blog before the new school year starts I just wanted to share about last years Running for Faith race.  This was the second annual and it turned out to be so much fun as we more then doubled our numbers from the previous year with nearly 200 runners this time around.  The race was held on the Vernonia-Banks Trail.  The race was able to raise money for Faith Bible athletics as well as the American Diabetes Association and the Chris Dudley Foundation.  We owe a big thanks for all our volunteers and sponsors...it wouldn't have been possible with out all of you!!!!!
