10/15 Faith Bible Falcons vs. Vernonia Loggers

It’s an exciting time to be a Falcon fan! Our very own varsity volleyball
girls beat their rival, Vernonia, in just three sets. This win guarantees Faith a spot in the state playoffs and makes them the champions of the east division of the NWL. This was a big win also helping to boost the Falcons state ranking heading into the playoffs. This was also a very special night
for four of the girls: Senior Night. The atmosphere in the gym that
night was electrifying and wild. The Falcon fans were so supportive and cheered
for the entire game, even during all of the timeouts.
After winning the first set 25-19, the Falcons continued their winning streak in the second set with a score of 25-11, and the third set with the same score of 25-11. Previously this season, the Falcons traveled about an hour to reach their destination in Vernonia to play the Loggers, and
after a tough fought match that lasted five sets, the Loggers won by just two points. Ever since that match, the Falcons pushed themselves everyday in practice and really strived to beat Vernonia the next time they played them, and they did!
The night was very emotional. It really hyped up the crowd and the players. Senior Maile
Kam shined in the match with over 15 kills, along with Madeleine Hood who had a total of six blocks against a team that rarely hit at us. Providing them with the majority of those kills was Rachel Wagner, and without Anna Buettner there would be none of this as she provided the
passes.
The four seniors all experienced their last home game. It was a night they will never forget and a fantastic way to end league play for 2015.
Faith Bible returns to action this Saturday, October 24, at Vernonia for a 3pm start and they will be playing the Delphian Dragons for the NWL Championship.
